Chris Severson-Baker is the Pembina Institute’s National Policy Director. Chris joined the Pembina Institute in 1996. Much of the focus of his work has been on reducing the health and environmental impacts of conventional oil and gas and the oil sands. Chris has represented the Pembina Institute in numerous regulatory reviews of large-scale energy development projects and in several multi-stakeholder initiatives focused on energy and the environment. Chris is a board member of the Clean Air Strategic Alliance of Alberta. He is also a past board member of the Cumulative Environmental Management Association (CEMA). Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental and Conservation Sciences (University of Alberta), and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Environment and Management from Royal Roads University.
